Common questions
How much does BusySMS cost?
$5 per verified phone number per month, billed monthly, with a 7-day free trial on every account. One subscription covers your whole account: add a number and the bill goes up by $5, remove one and it goes down.
Does my subscription work on my other phone?
Yes. The subscription belongs to your BusySMS account, not to one handset. Install the app on another phone, sign in to the same account, and it is covered — no second subscription.
What counts as a “verified number”?
A phone number you verified in the app — on this phone or another you signed in on. Dual-SIM with both numbers verified is two. Gateway on or off does not change the bill; remove a number from the dashboard to stop billing it.
How do I read my codes?
Three ways. The Chrome extension fills the code into the site's OTP box for you and presses Enter. The REST API and MCP let your scripts and agents list devices, fetch captured OTP messages, or long-poll for the latest code — all scoped to your own devices with your API key.
What does the Chrome extension do?
It watches the page for a verification-code field, and when your BusySMS phone receives the code it types it in and submits — Apple's six boxes, Google, banks, your own dashboards. No copying digits off a screen.
Do you read all my personal texts?
No. The app only captures verification/OTP messages from your own devices — never your full personal inbox. This is unchanged from before.
Can I add teammates?
Yes. Dashboard → Invites, enter their phone. They join when they sign in with that number; their devices bill under your subscription. Be deliberate about it: everyone on an account shares one code inbox, so a member with an API key can read verification codes from every phone on it, including yours.
I stopped using one of my phones — how do I stop paying for it?
Dashboard → Devices → Remove, on that number. The bill drops by $5 immediately and your other numbers keep working. Don't use Cancel in the payment portal for this — that ends the whole subscription, every number with it.
How do I manage or cancel billing?
“Manage billing” on your dashboard — or in the Android app — opens the Stripe portal, where you can change the card, download invoices, or cancel. Cancel anytime. If you subscribed through Google Play before we moved to card billing, that one is still managed in Google Play subscriptions.
